Anthony Gordon and Sven Botman have come under fire from Newcastle United fans after both posted positive farewell messages to Alexander Isak following his record-breaking move to Liverpool.
Isak’s dramatic exit dominated and hurt Newcastle’s summer, with the striker accusing the club of supposedly broken promises before refusing to play in the opening three Premier League fixtures and the whole preseason.
Magpie fans were reasonably infuriated by Isak’s strategy and nonsensical behavior, and many
turned on the Sweden international during the saga and the first few games of the season with public shows of disgust around Premier League stadiums.

Fan sentiment online has remained hostile toward Isak, and the heat only got hotter after Gordon and Botman’s public posts on Instagram.
“Regardless of the situation & what’s gone on, it’s been a pleasure to play with you,” Gordon wrote on Instagram, adding that Isak had given him “one of the best chemistries” on the pitch.
Botman went further, describing the Swede as “one of my rare best friendships” and wishing him “nothing but the best” at Liverpool.

Some supporters accused the pair of showing poor judgment and suggested such messages should have been shared privately rather than publicly.
There were even some folks calling for the club to consider selling them, given what transpired over the summer and the ending of it all.
