During NFL Week 5 action over the weekend, the Arizona Cardinals sought a trade involving their former top-5 pick, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. The franchise struck a deal with the Houston Texans, receiving a 2027 second-round pick along with a sixth-round selection in return of sending Harrison and a seventh-round selection.
Arrowhead Pride writer Jared Sapp asked our Chiefs community if they would have matched the Texans’ package for Harrison.
As the poll stands, over three-fourths of Chiefs
fans would not have supported making that deal for Harrison. Here were the best comments from the AP community:

A second-round pick is too much for what I have seen from Marvin Harrison JR. I’m glad Veach held his water on this one.

MHJ, could use this season learning the Chiefs Playbook, be very effective running Worthy’s routes. He has a 5th season option. Next season, IMHO, would be an all around upgrade over Rice and would be the Chiefs #1 WR for years to come.

Although I probably wouldn’t have made the trade with how MHJ has played recently, I wouldn’t predict it but I wouldn’t be shocked if MHJ goes on to have a better career than Hardman, Moore, Rice or Worthy. So given where those guys were drafted and trading a 3rd for Toney, I wouldn’t say it’s crazy to give up a 2nd for MHJ. Obviously I hope Worthy and Rice go on to have better careers.

No. If anything, the Chiefs need to be collecting draft picks next year, not trading them away for more baggage. I’d love to see Mahomes and MHJr play together, but not for a 2nd round pick in a loaded draft class.

The Chiefs have taken a big step forward with moving onto a run game…maybe it is time they go all the way and let some rookie receivers show us what they got!
Do you feel as if the Chiefs should have been more aggressive in getting Harrison, or are you satisfied with Kansas City laying off? Let us know!
