Lamine Yamal has had some words of praise for Marcus Rashford following his season on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United.
Rashford played his part in last season’s title success but has since returned to Manchester United after his loan deal expired.
Yamal has revealed how he feels Rashford fared in the two Clasicos last season and admitted the England international was a completely different player in the second game at Camp Nou.
“Rashford’s first Clásico, which we lost 2-1 at the Bernabéu, I
saw him play and thought, he still doesn’t know what a Clásico is,” he told Movistar.
“Then, in the second leg, he realized what a Clásico was all about, scoring a free kick and playing with a completely different intensity.
“When you come from La Masia, from your very first Clásico, you know what it’s all about, and you know that match is a battle.”
Rashford’s goal in the Clasico against Real Madrid was one of Barca’s most eye-catching strikes of last campaign, with the forward admitting after the match that he wasn’t planning on shooting until his team-mates urged him to go for goal.
