Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
Eagles notes: Change in travel plans, replacing Nolan Smith, Kelee Ringo’s opportunity – The Athletic The Eagles need to stay true to offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo’s words of being the “aggressor,” a point that star receiver A.J. Brown continued to reinforce, for the team’s passing success from the second half of their Week 3 win carries into Week 4. “We like to say ‘Take what they give us,’” Brown said. “But at times, we’re takers — we can
take whatever we want.” When Hurts was asked why the offense changed in the second half, he laughed and said, “We had to.” “I give a lot of credit to (Patullo) in that, to be able to adjust and get us in the direction we needed,” Hurts said. Saquon Barkley said the message of aggression is coming from Patullo — an admission that might be useful for those criticizing the first-year coordinator. He echoed Brown’s message of forcing opponents to stop them as opposed to seeing how they can react to the defense. Brown said defenses will continue trying to stymie Barkley until the pass offense proves it can make opponents pay. That’s why a successful air attack could be what Barkley needs for more production. What’s clear is that the Eagles’ stars are not being passive in the search for explosive plays, and the emphasis has been on making the second half against Los Angeles a sign of change, not an exception. “Those are my feelings, and I expressed those to the world,” Brown said. “But if it doesn’t go that way, everybody says, ‘A.J.’s not happy!’ But the goal is to win the game, and obviously, we want to do that first. It just took too long for us as an offense to adjust and be more aggressive. When one thing’s not working, let’s not keep hitting our head against the wall and see if it’s going to work.”
Eagles-Buccaneers Final Injury Report: Adoree’ Jackson doubtful, Kelee Ringo poised to start – BGN
The Eagles ruled one player DOUBTFUL: Adoree’ Jackson. Jackson missed practice on Wednesday before being limited on Thursday and Friday. With Jackson unlikely to play and Jakorian Bennett on injured reserve, the Eagles will likely start Kelee Ringo at cornerback. It’ll be interesting to see how he performs. The Eagles originally wanted Ringo to be their Week 1 CB2 starter but he struggled in training camp and fell out of the competition entirely. Now the 2023 fourth-round pick gets a chance to redeem himself.
Davy Jones Locker: Buccaneers vs Eagles Q&A with Bleeding Green Nation – Bucs Nation
This weekend features a matchup of two 3-0 teams as the Buccaneers play host to the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. The Bucs and Eagles have both played some close games but have found ways to win them. To break down this game even more, we sat down with Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation to give us a closer look into this matchup.
PFF Grades and Data: Key insights for every NFL Week 4 game – PFF
Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: A.J. Brown powered the Eagles’ Week 3 comeback with 103 receiving yards against single coverage—most of any player last week—hauling in five of seven targets. Since the start of the 2024 season, Brown leads all receivers in yards when facing single coverage (879). He’ll likely see more of the same Sunday, as Tampa Bay has pressed receivers on 78% of coverage snaps this season—the second-highest rate in the NFL.
Roob’s Eagles Observations: Jordan Davis has done something we’ve never seen – NBCSP
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a player reinvent himself the way Jordan Davis has, and it’s been incredible to watch. Davis’s first three seasons were largely disappointing, and you’d see occasional flashes of the player the Eagles hoped he could be when they picked him 13th overall in 2022, but back in April there was very real doubt over whether the Eagles would even exercise their 5th-year option on Davis because of his inconsistency and his inability physically to play even 40 percent of the Eagles’ defensive snaps. But now that $12.9 million for 2026 looks like a bargain. Through three games, Davis has nearly doubled his snap count from last year and played like a top-10 interior lineman. While Jalen Carter has been very good but not as spectacular as last year, his best friend and college teammate has taken his place as the Eagles’ elite interior lineman. And that could mean somewhere in the $20 million per year range on a long-term deal. With Carter’s contract coming up this offseason, Howie Roseman is facing quite a challenge and one he probably didn’t expect but doesn’t mind. How do you keep both these guys? It’s only three games, but if Davis keeps it up his value is just going to continue skyrocketing. Carter and Davis are the top interior line duo in the NFL, and if anyone can sign both of them it’s Howie.
NFL Week 4 predictions, fantasy sleepers, upset picks, bets – ESPN
Who will win a strength vs. strength matchup on the ground in the Eagles-Buccaneers game? The whole world knows the Eagles like to run the ball and do it well. They have the third-lowest pass rate over expectation (per NFL Next Gen Stats) this season and rank first in EPA per designed carry. But the Buccaneers are a particularly stiff challenge on that front, as they rank first in defensive EPA per designed carry. Tampa Bay’s three opponents have averaged minus-0.03 EPA per play when playing other teams this season, but minus-0.30 against the Buccaneers. Philadelphia’s most common run type is outside zone (44%), and the Bucs have proven adept at stopping it, allowing just 2.4 yards per carry to opponents running outside zone this season. Whichever team’s strength wins out Sunday will have the upper hand in this matchup.
Spadaro: 6 storylines to follow in Eagles at Buccaneers – PE.com
Some early scoring would mean a lot here. Very important number here: In the five previous games here since Head Coach Nick Sirianni and Hurts have been together, the Eagles have scored a total of 10 points in the first quarter, while the Bucs have scored a total of 52 points. Starting in a hole against this kind of defense that will attack, attack, and then, with a lead, attack even more because the offense is leaning in a one-dimensional way, is dangerous. In the three games this season, the Eagles have scored seven points each time. That is very encouraging. We’ve seen in the past the Eagles’ offense look for more traction in the early action, but 2025 has been a fertile offensive ground on the scoreboard in the first quarter. Let’s keep it going here, because the Eagles with a lead – like with every team – are in a far more favorable position to win.
Baker Mayfield, Chris Godwin, Tristan Wirfs are expected to play Sunday – PFT
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles was optimistic on Friday about the team’s chances of having quarterback Baker Mayfield, wide receiver Chris Godwin, and left tackle Tristan Wirfs against the Eagles, but said they would see where things stand on Saturday before making any final decisions.
Humble Eagles star craves more success after locking up NFL legend: He acts like ‘he isn’t sh–’ – NJ.com
“It’s easy to do when you’re in the AC, in the film room, man, but just the way he’s able to go out there and just display it on the field is good to see,” Ringo said. Starting cornerback Adoree’ Jackson appreciates that Mitchell “never looks for a pat on his back” and pushes himself to get better. When edge rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo arrives at 8 a.m. each day, he said that typically Mitchell is already there working out. He has also seen Mitchell working on “DB things” with Parker before every practice. “He just continues to come out and work like nobody knows that he’s good,” Okoronkwo said. “Like he isn’t sh–, you know, and that’s just a great, great attribute to have for a young corner.” After rewatching the Rams’ game, Jackson thought Mitchell was competitive on every rep versus Adams. Nickerson noticed that Mitchell has adapted former Eagles Pro Bowl CB Darius Slay’s play style but with “his own twist.” Rookie safety Drew Mukuba said Mitchell has “crazy” lateral quickness, which allows him to stick with top WRs. Mukuba wants to follow in Mitchell’s shoes as the Eagles’ next star DB. Mitchell has shown him what it takes to get there.
The Eagles left early for Tampa. But maybe not early enough, heat-health experts say. – Inquirer
Whatever the outcome, two heat-health experts say that the Eagles’ taking an early flight for their Sunday afternoon game in steamy Tampa against the Buccaneers isn’t going to make much difference. Typically the team flies to road games the day before kickoff, but Eagles opted to leave Friday evening to give players a chance to adjust to forecast conditions — heat indexes up to 100 — that would trigger heat advisories in Philly. The experts’ opinions seemed very much in line with someone who has no known medical training — Eagles’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. “People need more than one day to adjust to heat and humidity,” said Samuel Eldrich, medical director of the Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital Emergency Department.
Commanders’ Jayden Daniels (knee) to miss second straight game; Marcus Mariota to start vs. former Falcons squad – NFL.com
Jayden Daniels will miss another week, while Marcus Mariota will look to take down another one of his former teams. Daniels, dealing with a knee sprain, has been ruled out for the Washington Commanders’ game Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, per head coach Dan Quinn, making way for a second consecutive Mariota start. Daniels was injured during the Commanders’ Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers and his status was up in the air for much of the ensuing week. He said Wednesday he was feeling good, but that the ultimate decision on his status was up to the doctors. Apparently, the doctor’s orders were for at least another week’s rest.
Who can step up if Terry McLaurin misses more time? – Hogs Haven
Following a 57-yard catch on a pass from Marcus Mariota on Sunday versus the Raiders, Terry McLaurin was declared questionable to return with an injury and remained sidelined for the remainder of the game. However, he stayed in uniform and even jogged out onto the field to retrieve Luke McCaffrey’s touchdown ball. Dan Quinn did not give an update on his status in his Monday presser, but on Tuesday, Adam Schefter reported Terry was getting a second opinion and was uncertain for Sunday’s game. He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, and on Friday Dan Quinn ruled him out for Sunday’s game, listing him as “week-to-week,” and there is currently no timetable for his return.
Cowboys fans have bottomed out when it comes to confidence in the club – Blogging The Boys
Let’s just say things have gotten bleak for the Dallas Cowboys fanbase real quick. Our story picks up after a whiplash of emotion following low expectations heading into the season (35% confidence), but a strong showing against the Philadelphia Eagles boosting the mood (68% confidence). The Cowboys followed that up with a win, but the shootout nature of it against a really bad New York Giants team eroded that confidence once again (38% confidence).
NFL Week 4 spread picks, including Chiefs-Ravens – SB Nation
Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys. FanDuel line: Green Bay -6.5. Spread pick: Dallas +6.5. The return of Micah Parsons to Dallas, wearing a Packers uniform, is going to be perhaps the storyline this Sunday. That has generated speculation about the numbers Parsons will put up, and during my weekly radio spot with the Bill Michaels Show in Wisconsin on Wednesday, the idea of 2.5 sacks as the over/under for Parsons was discussed … But while the Packers defense is going to cause problems for the Cowboys on Sunday, Green Bay has some concerns of their own. In their loss to the Cleveland Browns, Jordan Love was sacked five times, with all of those coming on just a four-man rush from Cleveland. Green Bay’s banged-up offensive line is something to watch on Sunday, and while the Cowboys might not have a player like Myles Garrett, they’ll have opportunities to get to Love. That should keep this game close. I expect Green Bay to win, but I think Dallas can cover.
Survey results: Giants fans are excited for Jaxson Dart – Big Blue View
A full 70% of fans have some level of excitement with regards to Dart’s start, with the split leaning slightly toward being “HYPED!” for Dart’s first start. Any level of excitement makes sense, considering how well Dart played in the preseason. Dart was the best of this year’s rookie class in the preseason, and among the best quarterbacks in all the NFL during the preseason. That is, obviously, the preseason — defenses weren’t scheming, as well as keeping as many of their wrinkles as close to their vests as possible. Not to mention the fact that Dart was frequently going against depth players, as opposed to starters. But even so, he played well.
Rio de Janeiro to host NFL regular-season game in 2026 – NFL.com

With more than 36 million NFL fans across the country, the league will again return to Brazil in 2026 to play its first regular-season game in Rio at Maracanã Stadium. “Building on the success of the games in São Paulo, we could not be more excited to play in one of the world’s most iconic cities — Rio de Janeiro,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “We look forward to working closely with our city and state partners in Rio along with the historic Maracanã Stadium to deepen our ties to the tens of millions of fans in Brazil and across South America.”
