Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi held his annual pre-draft press conference on Thursday morning. The Titans own the No. 4 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. Earlier this week, we analyzed the very realistic possibility that Borgonzi’s decision comes down to Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love versus Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles.
Borgonzi was asked about a variety of topics and prospects. In true coach-speak fashion, he offered glowing reviews of most players he was asked about.
When Styles’ name was floated though, Borgonzi appeared to get especially complimentary of his talents.
“Asked about Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles, Borgonzi said his testing numbers were incredible and “he’s tall and rangy” and because he’s a former safety he has a great feel in coverage,” Jim Wyatt noted in his recap piece. “His length can take up a lot of space on the field,” Borgonzi said.
Styles is a rare prospect. He possesses 97th-percentile height at 6-foot-5 and his near 81-inch wingspan is 92nd-percentile measurement among linebackers in MockDraftable’s historical database. Styles ran a 96th-percentile 4.46 in the 40-yard dash, his 43.5-inch vertical was a 99th-percentile result, and he also jumped a 98th-percentile 134-inch broad jump, setting NFL Combine records for linebackers.
Styles registered 83 tackles for the Buckeyes this past campaign, after enjoying a breakout 100-tackle season in 2024. Styles has also notched seven sacks and eight pass breakups across 2024-25. He was an impact defender, showcasing elite ability while playing on a stacked unit alongside Caleb Downs, Arvell Reese, and Kayden McDonald.
Titans head coach Robert Saleh is a defensive-minded leader who specializes in linebackers. You wonder if that familiarity will make Saleh stand on the table for the Titans to draft Styles. Borgonzi mentioned you never want to draft a player your head coach isn’t excited about coaching.
You’d have to assume Saleh would light up if Styles is the pick at No. 4.
