In today’s Dub Hub:
- In an interview with 95.7 The Game, Steve Kerr issues a stern message to Warriors’ players about cleaning up the turnovers.
- Steph Curry ruled out for Friday night’s game against the Nuggets due to an illness.
- Mavericks expected to “explore” Klay Thompson’s trade value prior to the deadline, according to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.
Golden State Warriors rookie guard Will Richard is coming off a career-high 30-point game against the Sacramento Kings — and it’s not just the scoring that’s caught Steve Kerr’s attention.
The Warriors head coach spoke about Richard’s impact during an interview on 95.7 The Game’s Willard & Dibs, explaining why the rookie already feels like such a natural fit in Golden State’s system.
“Will fits in perfectly with everything I’m discussing right now,” Kerr said Thurday on 95.7
The Game’s “Willard & Dibs.” “The turnovers, the decision-making, the spacing, the ability to dribble, pass and shoot — those four things lead to good decision-making as a team, as a group. I can draw a play out of a timeout and put Will in any one of the five positions. So when you get guys like this that provide really solid play and stability, this is what has made our team go around Steph [Curry] and Draymond [Green].
However, that praise quickly turned into a warning.
The Warriors currently rank near the bottom of the league in turnovers, averaging 17.2 per game (fourth-most in the NBA). They’ve committed at least 16 turnovers in each of their four losses, prompting Kerr to use Richard’s steadiness as a reminder to the rest of the locker room to take better care of the ball.
“So Will Richard checks all those boxes. The whole team, the whole organization, recognizes this — which means everybody’s on notice. Take care of the ball, because we’ve got people who will do that. And they’re ready to step in.”

Steve Kerr Says Warriors Are Built for a Top-4 Seed
Kevin Durant, Draymond Green exchange comments about importance of defense | The Athletic
“He won here, and the defense was …” Green said.
“Incredible,” said Amick, finishing the sentence.
“Exactly,” Green said.
Durant’s difference in opinion wasn’t surprising to Green, knowing that their basketball philosophies aren’t always aligned.
“I know how ‘K’ thinks about the game of basketball,” Green said. “Like, I know that there are some all-time greats — alll-tiimmee greats; I mean, like some of the elite of the elite — who don’t quite have what Kevin would consider an offensive bag, and he doesn’t really think that player is as great as the masses may think, because of how he views the game.”
The latest in the back-and-forth came on Tuesday evening, when Durant responded to a post on X about Green’s comments. The tweet read “And the offense was????”

In talking with various sources around the league, Morant is still viewed as a borderline top-10 player at the position — and that’s before factoring in the previous off-court issues — but there aren’t many teams around the league in need of a starting point guard.
Morant also remains very popular in Memphis, a market players aren’t exactly flocking to, and one in which Morant has repeatedly said he wants to remain.
“He sells shoes, he sells tickets, and he wants to play in Memphis when no one wants to,” a Western Conference assistant coach said. “So it makes for a really, really difficult situation.”

On Moses Moody and the transition from theoretical toward actual development
A micro-detail that’s important to note is how Moody makes sure to set his feet before starting his shooting motion, whether coming off of a screen or in catch-and-shoot situations. Not only has it helped him become a more effective jump shooter — it has allowed him to be more explosive whenever he chooses to attack a close-out, a defensive look he’s slowly receiving more of as teams become wary of his ability to knock down outside shots.
