Every week, we ask our loyal DBN users a very simple question: “Are you confident the Cleveland Browns are headed in the right direction?” Not only do we end up with a ton of votes, but often some very smart and/or funny comments as well:
Even if fans are confident, there is often nuance to the votes as well:
Through eight weeks, no longer officially the halfway point of the season (thanks to the 17-game schedule), Browns fans have found a baseline for their confidence in the team, and it is right
around 60%. Preseason, Cleveland fans were just below that number and have returned to it after the Week 2 win, the Week 5 loss, and last week’s pummeling at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A look at the results in graph form, as well as the highs, lows, and average, tells the story of a fanbase that has been on a rollercoaster this season, understandably so, but is more confident than not in the team’s direction:
The real question is whether Week 8’s loss is the start of a downward trend, both for the team on the field and the fans’ hopes in the stands, or will HC Todd Monke’s group bounce back in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints? A loss could lead to a huge drop in confidence, perhaps down toward the 21% it was after the Week 1 shellacking, but will beating a 2-5 team create a significant bump in our next poll?
It has long been said that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” In this case, the above graph does a pretty good job of telling the story of a Browns fan’s experience so far during the 2026 NFL season.
What jumps out at you when you see the above graph? How are you feeling about the direction of the Cleveland Browns (almost) halfway through Todd Monken’s first year leading the team?
