Two days after losing their 17th straight game to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Washington Wizards return home to face the Charlotte Hornets — a team they’ve dropped five straight games to.
The Wizards were out-rebounded 54-41 in their 110-103 loss to the Hornets on Monday. They allowed 21 offensive rebounds — 11 to Moussa Diabate — that generated 26 second-chance points.
After the Wizards tallied just 27 rebounds in Wednesday’s loss to Cleveland, Anthony Davis said they must rebound better. Finishing
defensive possessions with boards is key to winning Friday’s contest.
AJ Dybantsa will remain on a minutes restriction similar to the one he was on against the Cavaliers, Brian Keefe said pregame.
Keefe said Tre Johnson, who didn’t play Wednesday after reporting right achilles soreness after his pregame warm-up, is a game-time decision.
