LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers on Wednesday activated Tarik Skubal after the minimum three days on the bereavement list, and optioned Kyle Hurt to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Skubal is scheduled to make his final regular season start on Friday against the San Francisco Giants on the road at Oracle Park. He was placed on bereavement leave on Sunday, which facilitated Emmet Sheehan making a spot appearance before getting optioned himself on Monday.
In nine starts since joining the Dodgers, Skubal has a 2.95 ERA
and 3.16 xERA with 60 strikeouts and 13 walks in 55 innings.
Hurt was one of eight Dodgers pitchers to combine for a shut out of San Diego in the series opener on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium, and the only one to pitch multiple innings. Hurt struck out two in his two scoreless frames on Tuesday, allowing only a single.
In 44 games with the Dodgers this season, Hurt has a 4.14 ERA and 3.76 xERA with 58 strikeouts and 23 walks in 45 2/3 innings. The 28-year-old right-hander recorded his first career save on May 27 against the Colorado Rockies in Los Angeles.
