The Cowboys were officially eliminated from playoff contention last night, but they still have something to play for against the Chargers: pride. Now, with just under 90 minutes until kickoff, we know
who won’t be suiting up for this one.
The big name is Quinnen Williams, who suffered a concussion in last week’s game. Williams went from a DNP to a full participant in practice, but was unable to get the final go and will be inactive. As expected, Tyler Guyton remains on the inactive list for another consecutive week, meaning another start for Nate Thomas.
Williams and Guyton join Jalen Tolbert, Caelen Carson, Jaydon Blue, and Jay Toia on the inactive list. Williams’ absence will mean some playing time for Perrion Winfrey, who had been an inactive since being activated from the injured reserve several weeks ago.
This game will also mark the return of Trevon Diggs, activated off the injured reserve in what was his last opportunity before being ruled out for the year. Diggs hasn’t played since Week 6, but will be active and (presumably) get the start. His activation coincided with DaRon Bland being moved to the injured reserve with a foot injury that will require surgery.
As for the Chargers, they’ll be without edge rusher Bud Dupree, receiver Derius Davis, and tight end Tyler Conklin, among others. All three are further down the depth chart, meaning Los Angeles won’t be down any of their key players.
