Barcelona president Joan Laporta says that Hansi Flick’s side want to win the lot this season after making a superb start to the new campaign.
The Catalans have won their first five games in all competitions, scoring 22 goals along the way, while playing some exciting attacking football.
Laporta says the goal is to finish the season with four trophies and has said “maximum focus and concentration will be needed.”
“This year we’ve set ourselves the goal of winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, the Supercopa,
and the Champions League, and therefore this requires maximum concentration and focus. And always keeping in mind the team spirit, which is what the players have to do, and that will lead us to win titles,” he told reporters.
“We’re all especially excited about the Champions League and we’re going to work hard to try and win it.”
Laporta also hailed Lamine Yamal for his recent comments, with the teenager saying before the Champions League win over Feyenoord that “if you don’t run, you don’t win.”
“Lamine has a maturity beyond his years… it’s fantastic. That statement perfectly illustrates what this team needs to do this season. Tension, intensity, commitment, no relaxation, and working flat out to go for it all. We’ve put together a very competitive, very balanced squad,” he added.
“Deco has done something very well, which is to make sure everyone is very focused because there’s so much quality in the squad. We have two very competitive teams, and whoever plays does well. Everyone has to be very alert and focused.”
Barcelona are due to play Levante, Racing and Sevilla in La Liga in the next week before the season pauses for the first international break of the new campaign.
