There’s some disappointment around Yankeleland that the Yanks weren’t able to gain on the Blue Jays, who beat the Rays at Rogers Centre. But considering how many people seemed to hastily write the Yankees
off yesterday just because Trevor Rogers started for Baltimore? I still feel OK. Just keep winning to the peat on and we’ll see where the chips fall.
Today on the site before the matinee, Sam will have the Rivalry Roundup for Game 160 all around the American League contenders, which featured another rival punching their ticket to October. Sam will also have the 2000 Yankees Diary entry, but also check out Josh’s piece, where he talks about, well, talking about the AL MVP race with less plugged-in baseball fans (in this case, his parents), and how it’s almost easier because of how much unnecessary noise clutters the conversation.
Today’s Matchup:
New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles
Time: 1:05 p.m. EST
TV/Streaming: YES, MASN, MLBN (out-of-market only)
Radio: WFAN 660/101.9 FM, WADO 1280
Venue: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY
Questions/Prompts:
1. Would you try to use Will Warren in a short relief role come October, or do you think it’s better to keep him a long reliever if he doesn’t make playoff rotation? Or would you just him leave him off?
2. Former Blue Jays All-Star Alek Manoah was claimed off waivers by the Braves. Do you think he’ll return to productive form or remain mostly stuck in baseball purgatory?
