The lineup for the Women’s Grand Prix in CMLL underwent some tinkering due to injuries, business arrangements, and other matters. The updated teams include a replacement for Shotzi Blackheart coming from AEW. The Death Riders are always game for action, and Marina Shafir is answering the call.
The CMLL Women’s Grand Prix is a torneo cibernetico with Mexico versus the world. This year’s teams hedge slightly for CMLL versus the world. The updated squads include:
- World: Marina Shafir (Moldova/AEW), Megan Bayne (USA/AEW), Harley Cameron (Australia/AEW), Queen Aminata (Guinea/AEW), Mei Seira (Japan/Stardom), Momo Watanabe (Japan/Stardom), AZM (Japan/Stardom), Miyu Amasaki (Japan/Stardom), Masha Slamovich (Russia/MLW), Emersyn Jayne (UK/RevPro), & Alice Crowley (USA/MLP)
- Mexico: Persephone, Zeuxis, Lluvia, Garra Negra, Olympia, Keyra, Kira, Skadi, India Sioux, Thunder Rosa, & Tessa Blanchard
The first changes were Slamovich and Crowley replacing Lady Frost and Taylor Rising, whom exited MLW and MLP respectively. Shotzi pulled out due to the unfortunate circumstance of her brother’s death. Shafir steps in for the MLW wrestler. La Jarochita suffered an injury that will keep her out of action for three to four months. Garra Negra takes Jarochita’s spot.
The CMLL Women’s Grand Prix takes place on Friday, October 23 from Arena Mexico. The event will be available for streaming through myAEW with English commentary as an individual show or in a bundle with the Women’s Universal Championship (Oct. 16) and Dia De Muertos (Oct. 30) events. Another option is CMLL’s YouTube subscription at the Fan Leyenda level.
