Ferran Torres opened the scoring for Barcelona against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday and made history at the same time.
The Spain star’s goal means that Barcelona have set a new scoring record as they’ve now netted in 45 consecutive matches. It’s the longest scoring streak in the club’s entire history, beating the previous record that was set between 1942 and 1944.
Torres struck after just 19 minutes of the match. Lamine Yamal pounced on a loose pass from Vitinha and the ball was then worked out to Marcus Rashford on the left. The England star then showed great vision to play lovely ball through to Torres to beat Lucas Chevalier in the PSG goal.
Barcelona’s Shark has now scored five times in all competitions this season and is the team’s top scorer so far in the current campaign, one ahead of Robert Lewandowski.
