UFC Vegas 114 went down this past weekend (March 14, 2026) inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, leaving several fighters feeling the post-fight blues. Among them was Brad Tavares, who suffered his second straight defeat — four of five overall — at the hands Eryk Anders, who opted to retire on top after his big win.
And Amanda Lemos, who suffered her first back-to-back losing streak after getting out-scored by Gillian Robertson after three rounds of women’s Strawweight action. But, which fighter
is suffering from the worst post-fight hangover, now a few days removed from the show?
Coming into his headlining bout against Kevin Vallejos, more than a few eyebrows were raised after questioning why Emmett was getting an opportunity to headline another UFC card. After all, he was on a two-fight losing streak and was just 1-4 in his last five outings. Undeterred, the long-time Octagon veteran was out to prove that he was deserving of the gig with an impressive win.
Indeed, Emmett didn’t get much of a chance to pop off his offense because Vallejos looked like man on a mission from the jump, putting pressure and pace on Emmett, not allowing him an inch to breath and get settled. With a little more than three minutes into the fight, Vallejos kicked it into overdrive and pounced on his foe after hurting him with a big shot, ultimately forcing the referee to put an end to the fight (watch highlights).
While an impressive win for Vallejos, it’s a devastating blow for Emmett, who has now lost three straight fights for the first time in his career, bringing him to 1-5 in his last six UFC fights. And if we’re being honest, he simply didn’t look good whatsoever. He never fired off anything of note and once Vallejos started tagging him, his defense was non-existent.
At 41 years of age, many are wondering if Emmett’s best days are behind him (it sure seems that way) and whether or not it’s in his best interest to keep fighting at the highest level. He’s always been tough, fan-friendly and a grueling matchup for most, but since 2023, he has looked like a shell of his former self, getting stopped in three of those defeats.
As far as what could be next for the long-time veteran (if he decides to stick around at 145 pounds) perhaps a showdown against someone like Ricky Turcios is in order. Why Turcios? Well, like Emmett he, too, is on a three-fight losing streak and has lost four of his last five fights. He isn’t ranked at the moment — and never has been — but Emmett can’t bank on getting a Top 15 opponent next since he did just lose to the No. 14-seeded guy. If Emmett can’t get past someone of Turcio’s caliber, then it might be time for the promotion to part ways with him.
Thoughts?
