Marc Casado has vowed to take advantage of every single minute he gets this season at Barcelona under Hansi Flick after a summer of speculation about his future.
The midfielder has slipped down the pecking order in Catalunya and was linked with a move away before the start of the new campaign.
However, Casado made it clear he wanted to stay and was handed his first start of the season on Sunday against Valencia, with Gavi and Frenkie de Jong out injured.
Here’s what he had to say after the 6-0 thrashing
of Los Che.
“Today the team came out with clear ideas. We knew we had to get the three points and we knew how to move the opponent,” he said, via Diario Sport.
“For me, every game is important. Defending these colors is always that, whatever the game is. I will give my all at every opportunity I have and I will take advantage of every minute on the pitch.”
Casado will be hoping he’s done enough to continue in the team against Newcastle in the Champions League, as Barca prepare for their first European match of the season.
