Pittsburgh Steelers legendary linebacker Jack Ham has been hospitalized in Washington. The Hall of Fame linebacker was getting set for Penn State vs. Washington, as he serves as the commentator for Penn State’s radio broadcast. Penn State head coach Matt Campbell says Ham, 77, is in stable condition, and Ham’s radio partner, Steve Jones, for playing a big part in Ham being okay.
“First of all, I think we should all know Steve Jones and the heroic effort that he did for somebody he loves dearly,” Campbell
said. “And if it’s not for Steve and what he did, I don’t know if we would have as good of news as we do right now. And then I want to also thank the University of Washington, their athletic director, their emergency team were incredible. They were outstanding. I think, hopefully, as all of you know, Jack is in stable condition right now, and obviously, the emotion of that.”
Ham was part of all four Super Bowl-winning teams of the 1970s in Pittsburgh. He was a six-time All-Pro and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988.
