I SAW SOMETHING…
Let me reminisce for a bit. I was reading through the comments from the previous DT and i saw someone talking about the Real Madrid they grew up watching. And, MENHH it struck a cord with me. The Real Madrid i really miss was the Mourinho Real Madrid. RUTHLESS, FAST COUNTER-ATTACKING AND WITH MURDEROUS INTENT. They didn’t spare small teams or big teams. They ran up the numbers each game until the various authorities that keep track on game stats had to start checking, comparing and contrasting our games down to the very last numerical detail because of the record numbers in goals, wins etc we were putting up. Maybe i need to move on cuz football has EVOLVED since then, but i want that mentality back in our players. It has always bothered me that though we have some of the fastest players in the game, yet we’re still trying to play possession football with them???????????????????????????? this is one of the drawbacks that became evident during the decline of the KCM midfield era. We lost penetrative passes down the center of the street and started opting to play it safe on the sidewalk, away from traffic. Zidane said he was always trying to get our players to keep it simple. Although we found a new way to win and we won a lot, our ruthless, piercing football was the trade off in that regard. Fair. Victory/trophies over playing style right?
