Bayern Munich’s Hiroki Itō is expected to make his long-awaited comeback to the squad.
According to Kicker’s Frank Linkesch (as captured by iMiaSanMia), the Japanese international could return to the matchday squad for Bayern’s next game against SC Freiburg. Itō has been training with the team for the past two weeks, and apparently he is finally ready to at least be on the bench for the team.
Itō has been out of commission for the past eight months or so ever since he re-injured his metatarsal against
St. Pauli last March. After surgery and intensive rehabilitation, now he is set to return to the squad.
Of course, Itō will not be starting against Freiburg, but there is ample reason to believe he will come off the bench, depending on how the game plays out.
