Happy Thursday, everyone. The biggest news yesterday had to do with uniforms, as Alabama will wear Crimson in Knoxville this season while Tennessee also dons their home colors.
With everything that’s going on in the sport nowadays, it’s great to see some nod to rivalry tradition, no matter how small.
Alabama fans are appropriately in wait-and-see mode here, but the staff and players continue to
say all the right things about getting nastier in the trenches.
Klemm believes Carroll has the physical traits and mentality to become a special interior offensive lineman for Alabama.
“What I’ve seen is he’s maturing and learning,” Klemm said, via Andrew Bone of Yea Alabama. “I believe he’s more of a natural guard than a tackle.”
While Carroll is capable of playing tackle, Klemm believes embracing the guard position could allow him to reach his full potential.
“He’s been doing well. He’s a physical guy. Those are things that I like and value in a player,” Klemm said.
Carroll’s physicality and overall approach have clearly caught the attention of his position coach, who believes the sophomore has many of the intangible qualities Alabama wants along its offensive line.
The new look offensive line made its public debut during the A-Day game, but that was a long ways away from the start of the season. How good will it actually be come game time?
Or maybe a better question, once we all can lay our eyes on it, how will people describe it ?
“Physical,” said new center Racin Delgatty. “With Coach Klemm, we’re coming to battle.”
That’s not going to be by accident. Klemm is being intentional about it. He makes it his point of emphasis every day, Delgatty said.
“The biggest thing he’s taught me is how to be really physical,” Delgatty said. “I’m already a physical guy. You guys probably see my tape at Cal Poly, but, man, he’s all about striking, putting guys in the dirt. Like, he’s all about that.”
Quarterback gets all the headlines, but football games are still won on the line of scrimmage.
Caleb Woodson spoke about why he came to Alabama.
“Just the caliber that everyone holds themselves to,” Woodson said. “It’s Alabama. It’s the top of the top. So just being held at that standard, all the guys want to.”
Upon arrival though, the heat was a tough transition for the Virginia native.
“I was like ‘ooh, I’m gonna have to get used to this,’” Woodson said, as the temperature in Tuscaloosa stood at 94 degrees and climbing on Wednesday. “I started going in the sauna, trying to sit in there for like 30 minutes, just get my body used to it. But I feel like now that I’m kind of adapted and my body’s used to the heat now.”
The Tide is well represented on the preseason All-SEC squad.
More preseason recognition is rolling in for Alabama football.
Six Alabama players were named as 2026 preseason coaches All-SEC honorees including defensive backs Zabien Brown and Bray Hubbard, who were each named to the first team. Wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams and offensive lineman Michael Carroll were named second team, while linebacker Yhonzae Pierre and defensive back Keon Sabb were named third team.
Alabama is one of seven SEC schools with multiple first team honorees.
Last, another TRO was granted!
Former LSU EDGE Jack Pyburn is among 16 players who were granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA on Thursday, returning for the 2026-27 college football season with a fifth year of eligibility. Pyburn is currently on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp roster and posted two sacks in their most recent preseason game.
The list of players also includes former Ole Miss defensive lineman Xzavian Harris, Ole Miss safety Wydett Williams, Ole Miss tight end Dae’Quan Wright, James Madison linebacker Trent Hendrick, Oregon State running back Anthony Hankerson, Notre Dame defensive lineman Junior Tuihalamaka, South Carolina safety DQ Smith and SMU running back TJ Harden.
Wright is currently in NFL training camp with the Cleveland Browns, while Hankerson is with the Seahawks. Attorneys on the case are Ryan Downton and Mark Peper.
Per the signed order in Louisiana, the 16 college football players will be allowed to enter the transfer portal. The NCAA’s rule of restitution and the ghost transfer rule are also enjoined.
It’s about two weeks before the start of the season, and dudes who have been in NFL training camp will have a one week free agent tour of college football teams to play for. Just when you think things can’t get more absurd.
That’s about it for now. Have a great day.
Roll Tide.
