Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira are set to rematch for the light heavyweight title at UFC 320 on Oct. 4 in Las Vegas, and they already met face to face at the UFC Performance Institute on Thursday.
Ankalaev,
who won the first match via unanimous decision back in March to claim the 205-pound gold, posted a video on his Instagram Stories showing a short conversation between him and “Poatan” in Las Vegas just over a week before their highly-anticipated fight.
Pereira is sitting on a couch while Ankalaev speaks in Russian to a person who’s holding a phone with a translation app. This person proceeds to tell Pereira what Ankalaev allegedly said.
“We’ll fight on Oct. 4 and we don’t have to exchange words anymore,” Ankalaev said, according to the man.
“I’ve never said anything, he’s always talked,” Pereira responded in Portuguese. “I’ve never said anything, he’s always talked. And now that we’re close, face to face, he’s an asshole.”

The video ends after Pereira responds to Ankalaev, but the former UFC champion indicated he plans to post a longer video of their encounter on his YouTube channel.
Earlier this week, Pereira posted a video on social media claiming that Ankalaev hid from him at the UFC P.I., and Ankalaev fired back on Twitter.
