Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Rockets fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
One thing we’ve been talking about heavily here at TDS this week is if the Rockets can and/or should make a deal at this year’s NBA Trade Deadline. Point guard is an obvious position of need, but as Reed Sheppard and Amen Thompson appear to be gradually coming into their own, it’s
less of a need now than it was a month and a half ago.
But at least currently, the Rockets seem to be a tier behind the the NBA’s elite, losing most of their games against the conference leaders. The Rockets have trade ammunition in that they have three centers and a glut of defensive wings. But consequently, that’s an essential part of their identity — Ime Udoka’s flexibility to run two center lineups when needed and also Houston’s defensive intensity by running multiple wing defenders. Should they give it up for another point guard when Reed and Amen have been playing well and Fred VanVleet will be back next season?
So the vote is yours. Do you want the Rockets to make a deal? And by deal, I’m clarifying this as something that’s relatively significant as to impact the team roster this year. Not referring to moving a couple second round picks or future assets.
Tell us your vote, and we’ll be back soon with the results!
