Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta understands how daunting the challenge of Bayern Munich can be for any team.
However, the 43-year-old is confident in his squad and likes how his team looks at the moment.
“We made
a very good preparation, a short but very efficient one. We know the importance of the match. We’re in a really strong position and want to maintain that. We have a beautiful and very demanding game ahead of us. This is the kind of opposition we want to face. We’ve been very consistent in both competitions, they’ve been consistent as well. It’s a good test for us to see where we are,” said Arteta (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Bayern are in a great moment. The level of consistency, results and performances they’re showing every week is very impressive. We know that, but it’s also a big opportunity for us to show what we’re capable of.”
Arteta will likely be facing Bayern Munich without a full deck. Gabriel, Viktor Gyökeres and Kai Havertz did not train with the team, but Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Martinelli did partake per The Standard (via @iMiaSanMia):
Arsenal team news ahead of tomorrow’s game against Bayern: Gabriel, Viktor Gyökeres and Kai Havertz did not train with the team today and will miss tomorrow’s game. Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Martinelli, who were sidelined with injury, took part in full training today.
It would great to see both teams at full capacity for this match, but each club will be without a few key players.
