The Rangers made some moves prior to the last three games, none of which we have written up, so we are doing that now.
Prior to Thursday’s game against the Kansas City Royals, the Rangers activated reliever Jacob Webb from the injured list, and optioned pitcher Caleb Boushley to AAA Round Rock. Boushley had thrown a bunch of pitches — not very successfully — the day before as the starter in the bullpen game due to Jacob deGrom being scratched — and so he was the obvious choice to go out once Webb returned.
Prior to Friday’s game against the Guardians, the Rangers put outfielder Evan Carter on the injured list, and recalled outfielder Michael Helman. Carter was hit by a pitch on Thursday, and it turned out to have resulted in a fractured wrist which likely ends his season. Helman and Justin Foscue were the only two position players on the 40 man roster in the minors, so it had to be one of those two guys.
Finally, prior to yesterday’s game, the Rangers placed Marcus Semien on the injured list and activated Adolis Garcia from the injured list. Garcia homered yesterday, so that’s a positive. Semien is dealing with a foot contusion that reportedly has him barely able to walk, and while X-rays didn’t show a fracture, the issue that he’s dealing with is still unclear.
