Manchester City travel to Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest on Saturday lunchtime to once again try to take control of the title race.
City went top for a few hours on Saturday, only for Arsenal
to get a 1-0 win at Everton to take back the lead, and slips by either side will give the other an advantage.
Forest have been quite erratic this season, with their third manager, Sean Dyche, now in place, trying to steady the ship. Since Dyche’s appointment, Forest have beaten Liverpool and Spurs and almost beat Manchester United, until the Stretford Rangers scored a late equaliser.
It could be a potential banana skin for City, but considering the form the Blues have been in recently, a win is more than possible.
As usual, our team are on hand to give us their views and opinions on the match. Here’s what we think this week.
Saul
Tricky forest match. Off the holidays. Have to back City even it being away. Haaland and Foden should be roaring to go. 3-1 City.
Forest 1-3 City
Will
Pep has high standards when it comes to monitoring weight and nutrition, whilst Sean Dyche seemingly encourages his players to have a Christmas Dinner!
The Premier League has fine margins, and will having a bit of turkey be the difference between winning and losing? Who knows – either way, I expect City to win. 3-0 has been a fairly common scoreline of late so let’s go for that
Forest 0-3 City
Thomas
City are away to Forest as the festive fixtures get into full swing. Only Wolves have scored less than the Trees this season. City win, and go top of the table, at least temporarily.
Forest 0-4 City
Pete
Forest struggling, City going for the title. There’s only one outcome here…a Forest win. Okay, that’s a bit dramatic but that’s City for you, although I do expect the Blues to come out on top of this one. And I think it’ll be a bit emphatic (although that may be the mulled wine talking).
Forest 0-5 City
What happened against West Ham
Everyone predicted a win but no one picked up any extra points. Saul was a Hammers goal away from perfection, while Thomas was a City goal away from the same. Will and Pete went for silly scores and rightly only got one point.
Here’s the table:
