The 23rd-ranked Crimson Tide hit the road for a major showdown with the defending national champions and 19th-ranked Florida Gators today. Todd Golden has provided plenty of bulletin board material for Alabama, who will have freshman phenom Amari Allen back today in Crimson and White. Expect to see a lot of him scrapping with the massive Gator frontcourt. I wouldn’t expect to see too many smaller lineups today for the Tide – Allen, TBB, Sherrill, and Chuck are going to have to come up big in this
one, if Alabama wants to pull off a massive road win in the O’Dome.
Florida isn’t what they were a year ago, but they do boast one of the best frontcourts I’ve ever seen at the collegiate level. If their guards can play well, they are nearly impossible to beat. They are basically the inverse of Alabama. If the Tide’s bigs can battle with Florida’s, our guards can bury the Gators if their backcourt isn’t shooting the ball well.
Should be a fun match-up at noon on ABC. Roll Tide, folks.
