Willow Nightingale will be back soon, but we’re too far along in the tournament to determine who will win the TBS title she vacated due to injury back in May to stop it now.
Six wrestlers qualified for a Survival of the Fittest elimination match for the belt on Dynamite tonight (July 1): Harley Cameron, Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, Maika, Persephone, and Queen Aminata.
Unfortunately for superfans of Ms. Cameron like yours truly, she got caught being Harley and was eliminated early by the CMLL Women’s
champ…
Shida then eliminated Stardom’s Maika after using a kendo stick to get her former tag partner Statlander out of the way, and Persephone pinned Aminata after she brawled with Shida. Then Stat returned the favor to the luchadora, stacking her up to make it one-on-one with Kris’ old “friend” from Japan.
It wasn’t really one-on-one though, because as Statlander was crawling to escape a submission, Persephone returned to blast her with the belt. It was an easy 1-2-3 for Shida from there.
