Buffalo Bills 2025 first-round cornerback Maxwell Hairston has been sidelined since injuring his knee at the end of July and his timetable still remains unclear, per head coach Sean McDermott. Hairston avoided major injury and was diagnosed with a sprained LCL in his right knee.
Hairston was spotted on crutches at the beginning of August but as of last Tuesday, he’s no longer using them and has been seen wearing a rather bulky knee brace.
McDermott also said he “got the vibe that it was trending in the right direction,” which is positive news for the rookie. It’s likely that we receive a much clearer timetable as the season opener approaches, but signs are pointing to a potential delay on his NFL debut. Nonetheless, this leaves the door wide open for depth cornerbacks to make an impact in the final preseason game and in practice moving forward.
The team still doesn’t seem too concerned that the rookie will begin the season on Injured Reserve, either.
