Serge Gnabry is having a career revitalization in 2025. The bright young talent that took the Champions League by storm in Bayern Munich’s most recent Champions League winning campaign, is back to doing what he does best, score goals. The oft-criticized German winger has reformed his playstyle under Vincent Kompany and it has paid dividends at both the club and national level. Needless to say, Bayern Munich executives have taken notice.
Serge Gnabry’s contract with the Bavarians will expire next summer,
and Gnabry has been solid, although not quite as sharp as the first stretch of the season. It has been reported that both Gnabry and Bayern want to continue to relationship, but both parties seem to play things coy at the moment. Ahead of Bayern’s clash against Sporting in the Champions League, Gnabry was asked about the ongoing negotiations.
“The situation is very relaxed. There are ongoing talks, we’ll see what happens. I’m fully relaxed, so far everything’s good from both sides,” as reported via @iMiaSanMia.
All signs point to the parties being interested but in no rush. Bayern has already made it clear that Dayot Upamecano is the biggest priority in extending before looking to players such as Gnabry and Goretzka.
If Gnabry can keep his performances up, it is hard to imagine him not staying in Munich next year. Bayern has recently said farewell to a few club legends such as Kingsley Coman and Thomas Müller and should be keen on keeping their veterans around, if the price is right.
