On Sunday, the (1-0) Kansas City Chiefs are once again home under the lights at Arrowhead Stadium, taking on the (0-1) Indianapolis Colts. Let’s see how the game plays out in Madden NFL 27.

First quarter
The Kansas City Chiefs received the opening kickoff and immediately went to the ground
game. The first two plays went to Kenneth Walker, who picked up 13 yards on the first carry and 11 on the second. Patrick Mahomes then connected with Rashee Rice on a slant to get the Chiefs across midfield.
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither went unblocked on a blitz and sacked Mahomes on third down, forcing the Chiefs to settle for a field goal.
Kicker Harrison Butker drilled a 35-yard field goal.
The Colts would begin their night by going three-and-out.
Mahomes felt Davis-Gaither coming on another potential sack, but released the ball in time on a deep crosser to tight end Noah Gray for 30 yards, getting the Chiefs inside the Colts’ 40-yard line.
End of first quarter: Chiefs 3, Colts 0
Second quarter
Head coach Andy Reid called Walker’s number twice before Mahomes connected with Terrace Thornton to reach the three-yard line. On a shotgun snap, Mahomes handed the ball off once more to Walker, who broke through the Colts’ defensive line and into the end zone for a touchdown.
The Colts tried to convert their first first down of the game on third-and-one. Daniel Jones threw a bubble screen on an RPO, but L’Jarius Sneed stopped the play for a two-yard loss. The Colts ended the drive with a punt.
Mahomes scrambled for 10 yards to the Colts’ 19-yard line as the two-minute warning approached. Mahomes scrambled once more to get inside the five-yard line. On the next play, Mahomes found Walker on a screen pass, and Walker waltzed into the end zone for a touchdown.
George Karlaftis and Felix Anudike-Uzomah sacked Jones on consecutive plays, resulting in another Colts punt.
End of second quarter: Chiefs 17, Colts 0
Third quarter
The Colts’ offense continued to be stagnant, but a roughing-the-passer penalty on Chris Jones changed the momentum for Indianapolis. Jonathan Taylor picked up the Colts’ first first down with an 11-yard run.
Jones found Josh Downs on an out route, and Downs took it 39 yards upfield to get to the Chiefs’ five-yard line. Deion Burks capped off the drive with a touchdown catch.
On the Chiefs’ ensuing drive, Mahomes’ screen pass didn’t have enough air under it and hit Laiatu Latu in the helmet, bouncing right into his arms for an interception. This gave the Colts excellent field position at the Chiefs’ 38-yard line.
The Chiefs’ defense stood tall, with major help from Nick Bolton, who recorded a sack.
Kicker Spencer Shrader nailed his field goal attempt.
The Chiefs answered back with consecutive 19-yard plays: one on a run by Walker and another on a pass to Rashee Rice.
End of third quarter: Chiefs 17, Colts 10
Fourth quarter
Walker caught his second touchdown pass of the night, giving him three total touchdowns in the game.
The Colts reached Chiefs territory and began to stall after Chris Jones recorded a sack to force a third-and-13. Rookie defensive back Jadon Canaday knocked down a potential first-down pass completion.
On fourth down, Daniel Jones picked up the first down with his legs.
The Colts’ drive drained a major amount of clock as the Chiefs’ defense continued to play sticky coverage.
On fourth-and-goal with less than 2:45 remaining, Chris Jones forced a sack-fumble, and the Colts turned the ball over on downs.
End of the fourth quarter: Chiefs 24, Colts 10
