What to Watch For
- Home Court Advantage – This is technically a neutral site game, but it will be a quick ride on the Broad Street Line for La Salle students, whose campus is 14 miles away. But Penn State’s enrollment is nearly 10x that of the Explorers’ at University Park alone, and plenty of alumni live in Philadelphia. I’ll be interested to see which way the crowd skews.
- A Clean Operation – Penn State has had a few early-season scares against seemingly inferior opponents, and the betting line suggests this could be the case against on Saturday. Mike Rhoades’ work will clearly be cut out for him come conference play, but he still has an out-of-conference slate to survive first. A win, however, would make it the fourth consecutive season the Nittany Lions have started 4-0.
Prediction
I predict another clean game from Penn State – meaning minimal fouls and turnovers. Given the youth and inexperience of the squad, this has been a bright light for the Nittany Lions thus far this season. If they can continue to keep that under control, it should be a cruising win in the city of Brotherly Love.
