The Philadelphia Phillies (30-28) counter-punched their pennant rival Los Angeles Dodgers (37-21)] with a scrappy 4-3 road win to level the weekend series.
Alec Bohm opened the scoring with a solo home run (6) off Dodgers’ starter, Roki Sasaki, to open the second inning.
Jesus Luzardo pitched around traffic in the bottom of the second, conceding just a run while allowing two hits and a walk.
The Dodgers took the lead in the bottom
of the fourth on a sac fly after a three-bag error by Adolis Garcia.
Dodgers would pad the lead in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Mookie Betts.
Dodgers’ setup man, Tanner Scott, allowed a leadoff single by Justin Crawford who came home to score on a single by Bryce Harper. Harper scored to take the lead 2four pitches later on Edmundo Sosa’s third home run of the season.
Jhoan Duran collected his twelfth save of the season retiring the side in order.
The Phillies conclude their trip to LA tomorrow afternoon as Andrew Painter is set to face off against Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
