Netflix has officially released the first trailer for MOURINHO, an upcoming three-part documentary series chronicling the life and career of José Mourinho, with the series set to premiere worldwide on August 11, 2026:

Filmed over a two-year period, MOURINHO offers unprecedented access to one of football’s most recognizable and polarizing figures. The documentary explores the milestones that defined his career, from Champions League triumphs and domestic league titles to the intense rivalries and media moments that helped shape his reputation as “The Special One.”
Rather than focusing solely on the trophies, the series also promises a closer look at the man behind the public persona, examining the personality, leadership style and relationships that have made Mourinho one of the game’s most influential managers.
Alongside extensive footage of Mourinho himself, the documentary features interviews with a host of football icons who experienced different stages of his career firsthand.
Among those appearing are Sir Alex Ferguson, John Terry, Iker Casillas, Didier Drogba, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Marcelo, Samuel Eto’o, Javier Zanetti, Frank Lampard and Petr Čech.

The series is directed by Joe Pearlman, whose previous credits include Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, Robbie Williams and Bros: After the Screaming Stops. Pearlman’s documentary work has previously earned both BAFTA and Emmy nominations.
