Other Giants observations
All eyes on Deonte Banks as he gets another Giants chance | New York Post
Addison Lynch, the first-year Giants defensive backs coach, responded with only one word when asked if, in his limited time working with Deonte Banks, it was easy to see why Banks was a former first-round draft pick. Lynch turned one word into a four-syllable declaration.
“Ab … so … lute … ly,’’ Lynch said.
…
“He has the intangibles,’’ Lynch told The Post. “You see it in his body. He’s big, he’s fast, he can tackle, he can jump, he can catch. So it’s my job to put
him in the best positions to be able to bring those intangibles out all the time. Mama and daddy gave him a lot of skills so my job is to make mama and daddy’s skill set shine on the field on Sundays.’’
Fact or Fiction: Way-too-early stat predictions (defense) | Giants.com
OLB Brian Burns will repeat as the team sack leader.
John Schmeelk: Fiction – Before I explain why I am going with fiction here, let me unequivocally state I believe Burns is the best edge player on the Giants. He stops the run, rushes the passer well, can drop into coverage, plays with an unrelenting motor, and is a fantastic leader of the defense. But I do believe Abdul Carter is going to be the more productive pass rusher this season.
2027 NFL Mock Draft: Giants trade down | PFSN
13) New York Giants (via MIA, MIN)
Austin Siereveld, OG, Ohio State
Following an array of projected trades, the New York Giants find themselves with more draft capital and the ability to still land the top offensive guard in the draft: Ohio State’s Austin Siereveld.
Giants’ Malik Nabers concerns may be getting out of hand | Yahoo! Sports
Both John Harbaugh and Joe Schoen have been generally steadfast in their belief that Nabers will be ready for Week 1, but that hasn’t been enough for Giants fans.
There seems to be a palpable fear that Nabers could miss the season opener and possibly more, and it has created a dark cloud above New York as it prepares to head into training camp.
But are we overreacting here?
