Nico Schlotterbeck has been linked with a move to Barcelona for some time now but the latest update claims the Catalan giants have now “absolutely ruled out” trying to sign the defender.
According to Diario
Sport, the club have been analysing potential signings and decided that Schlotterbeck is not the right profile and “would lack some speed to be able to adapt to Hansi Flick’s game.”
The report is adamant that Barcelona will not join the bidding for Schlotterbeck who is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, with Bayern and Real Madrid still keen.
Barcelona are still thought to be in the hunt for a new center-back to bolster their backline, and Sport say Alessandro Bastoni and Micky van der Ven are the two players most liked by the club right now.
Bastoni has already played down talk of a move to Barcelona, but it’s been reported that Van der Ven would like to leave Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
