Dayton is back into the top 10 of the men’s Other Top 25 this week. The Flyers sit 9-4 at the conclusion of non-conference play. They have wins over Florida St., Georgetown and Marquette.
Anthony Grant’s group is 64th in BartTovik, 65th in KenPom but 90th in the NET. Dayton is 40th in adjusted defensive efficiency, according to Torvik. It is 46th in Torvik over the last month.
The top of the ranking remained unchanged with Utah St. at the top. Saint Louis held steady at No. 2. Saint Mary’s kept hold
of the three spot. George Mason came in fourth once again.
Colorado St. jumped from 18th to 12. The Rams are 9-3 on the season but 0-1 to open Mountain West play with a loss to Utah St.
Santa Clara moved up from 25 to 17. The Broncos are 10-4 and blew out Oregon St. 102-64 Sunday to open WCC play. Herb Sendek’s team has wins over McNeese St., Xavier and Minnesota. It is 37th in Torvik, 57th in KenPom and 62nd in the NET. The Broncos are 33rd in adjusted offensive efficiency.
Three teams joined the ranking this week: Illinois St. (T-20), St. Bonaventure (T-22) and Northern Colorado (T-22).
The Redbirds are off to an impressive 10-3 start and have won nine of their last 10 with the lone loss in that coming to Utah St. ISU is 65th in the NET, 69th in Torvik and 89th in KenPom.
Bona is 11-2. Its two losses have come to North Carolina and in overtime to Ohio. The Bonnies have wins over Siena, Bradley and Florida Atlantic. Mark Schmidt’s team is 97th in the NET, 115th in KenPom and 121st in Torvik.
The Bears had one of the biggest wins of the week with an 86-81 win at Colorado. It’s the program’s first win over the Buffaloes since 1935. UNC has 10 non-conference wins for the first time since joining Division I.
Northern Colorado had lost its two previous games, including a 101-90 affair to Texas A&M. It sits 117th in the NET, 146th in Torvik and 149th in KenPom.
