Let’s catch up with some of Bayern Munich’s international players…
Stanišić misses Croatia match
Per Sportske novosti (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Josip Stanišić missed Croatia’s game vs. Faroe Islands due to the birth of his daughter in Germany:
Josip Stanišić is not in Croatia squad against Faroe Islands tonight as he’s attending the birth of his daughter in Germany. He should be in contention for the next game against Montenegro on Monday.
Bayern powering France
Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano started for France. Olise scored and Upamecano continued
his staunch defensive play:
🇫🇷 France has not conceded a single goal in its last 500 minutes of play with Dayot Upamecano on the field. #UKRFRA
Jackson starts for Senegal
Nicolas Jackson got a starting nod for Senegal.
The German national team hit the road to face Slovakia, looking to get off on the right foot for this round of World Cup qualifier action.
That did not happen.
Julian Nagelsmann — as he is prone to do — did some experimenting with his lineup and it did not work as the team dropped a 2-0 decision. The players were bad, the coaching was not great, and it was not a banner effort overall.
