Miami Heat big Bam Adebayo etched his named in the history books earlier tonight, scoring a whopping 83 points against the Washington Wizards.
The momentous total places him second, behind only Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point feat in 1962 when he represented the Philadelphia Warriors against the New York Knicks. Adebayo now sits ahead of Kobe Bryant’s 81 points in 2006 and Chamberlain’s 78 points in 1961.
Adebayo led the heat to a 150-129 win against the Wizards, registering 83 points while shooting 20
of 43 from the field, 7 of 22 from three and 36 of 43 from the free throw line.
Prior to tonight’s game, the Heat big had averaged 18.9 points on 44.7 percent shooting from the field and 33.0 percent shooting from three, to go with 9.8 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks. The next highest scoring Heat player was Simone Fontecchio with 18 points off the Miami bench.
