On Sunday, we saw McCade Brown become the 13th rookie to debut for the Colorado Rockies in 2025. That set a club record that still could be broken when rosters expand to 28 on September 1. The Rockies are still in the middle of a youth movement and still need four more wins
to avoid MLB infamy. We asked you earlier this week who you thought would come up next, and you answered:

The vast majority of Purple Row readers believe that OF/DH Sterlin Thompson (No. 18 PuRP) will be Number 14. In 103 games with the Albuquerque Isotopes, the 24-year-old has been slashing .292/.388/.512 with 47 extra-base hits (25 doubles, 8 triples, 14 home runs).
Voters were equally split, though, between pitching prospects Sean Sullivan (No. 9 PuRP) and Gabriel Hughes (No. 11 PuRP). The right-handed Hughes suffered an injury in mid-June, but returned a month later. He has started 20 games in 2025, posting a 2-5 record, 4.55 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. The left-handed Sullivan has not pitched above Double-A, but neither had McCade Brown. Sullivan also spent time on the injured list in August, but was only there from August 12-25. He has started 18 games this year, posting a 9-4 record, 2.34 ERA and 0.88 WHIP.
With the state of the Rockies, and especially the state of their rotation, anything is possible. It’s also possible that any of these three might debut in 2026 and they will instead call upon someone else like Zac Veen or Drew Romo to come back up.
Do you think we’ll see another debut in 2025? Or will the Rockies stop at 13 and call someone back up in September? Let us know!
