Despite all of the noise out there, Notre Dame football is still putting in the work and continually carving a place for itself as one of the best programs in the country. To do that, the irish have hit the recruiting trail hard to bring in the best talent to South Bend. On Monday, 4-Star cornerback Xavier Hasan gave his commitment to Notre Dame and its 2027 football recruiting class.
The 5’11” 195 pounder from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, chose the Irish from an impressive offere list that included the Tennessee Volunteers, Miami Hurricanes, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, and many more from all over the country.
From 247:
-Young zone corner with impressive recovery speed that can play the football in the deeper third with his ball skills.
-Owns a sturdy build at 5-foot-11, 195 pounds and has requisite length in the arms.
-Stays on top of routes with a smooth pedal and will use his hands to redirect as he fights for positioning and looks to get assignments off schedule.
-Picked off seven passes as a sophomore and was just as frisky in coverage as a junior with his eyes and awareness.
-Rather sound as an open-field tackler at this stage. Trusts his technique and is more proactive in run support.
-Dangerous as a return man with his acceleration.
-Held his own at a loaded Future 50 camp in summer of 2025 and was able to match targets of all different sizes.
-Projects as a potential multi-year starter for a CFP contender that could find a home in the nickel.
Hasan is now the 9th commitment for Notre Dame’s 2027 class which is now ranked #3 in the country according to the 247 Team Composite Rankings. The Irish just added Ace Alston to the class last week, and Khalil Terry last month, as they continue to reload for one of the nation’s best secondaruys thanks to Mike Mickens.
