Bayern Munich supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß is outspoken on many things and many people.
Last week, the club legend took aim at Konrad Laimer’s rumored salary expectations and it was not well-received by the Austrian. In the midst of the Bundesliga title celebrations, however, the two men met up and buried the hatchet:
Uli Hoeneß went over to Konrad Laimer during the championship celebration at the town hall, made a little mix of a light slap and cheek pat with his hand. He added a few warm words,
and the two chatted briefly. Laimer grinned at Hoeneß afterward, and they both winked at each other.
Laimer’s contract does not run out until the end of the 2026/27 season, so there is time for Bayern Munich and the versatile right-back / central midfielder to work out a deal. While some salaries on the roster are extremely high, Laimer is likely more valuable to Bayern Munich, than he is on the open market. The grass — and pay — might not necessary be greener elsewhere.
Laimer could still earn a good salary at Bayern Munich without breaking the club’s bank account.
