The San Francisco 49ers officially signed Andre Dillard to the practice squad. The former first-round pick was with the team during training camp, but he was injured. The corresponding move to make room
for Dillard was to waive offensive tackle Brandon Parker. That’s probably a sign that Dillard is fully healthy.
Here is the list of players the Niners worked out on Tuesday:
Andrew Farmer
Clelin Ferrell
Kingsley Jonathan
Casey Toohill
Farmer is 6’4″, 250 pounds. The 25-year-old last appeared with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023, albeit for 30 snaps.
Ferrell needs no introduction after starting 17 games for a 49ers defense that made the Super Bowl in 2023. Ferrell, 28, played a game with the Chargers this year and 10 last season with the Washington Commanders.
Jonathan is 6’4″, 260 pounds. He’s played 98 career snaps with the Bills and the Bears, most recently with Buffalo in 2024.
Toohill, 6’4″, 250 pounds, was with the Bills in 2024. Outside of Ferrell, Toohill has the most experience. He’s played over 1,400 career snaps, including 235 in 2024
Without Trevis Gipson, William Bradley-King is the only other edge rusher on the practice squad.
