10 NFL players under pressure to perform in Year 2 | PFF
QB Jaxson Dart, New York Giants. Despite mixed pre-draft evaluations, the Giants traded back up into the first round to select Dart with the 25th overall pick. Although his first season showed some flashes, plenty of refinement is needed. Among 26 quarterbacks to play at least 340 dropbacks last season, Dart’s 67.9 overall PFF grade ranked 23rd, and his 64.2 PFF passing grade slotted 24th. While Dart had a propensity for high-level plays with a 5.2% big-time throw
rate, his 3.4% turnover-worthy play rate tied for sixth-highest. Part of what contributed to Dart’s woes was subpar accuracy: His 11.2% plus accurate throw rate tied for last, and his 58.9% accurate attempt rate tied for 21st.
Dart’s arm, athleticism and improvisation give him naturally raw talent, but more development is required — particularly in avoiding poor decisions and sacks. With John Harbaugh now coaching New York, Dart’s play should go hand-in-hand with whether or not the Giants can return to competitiveness. If Dart fails to make a jump in 2026, it could render some uncomfortable conversations and/or transactions next offseason.

Who will be NY Giants’ most impactful rookie in 2026 season? | The Record
The New York Giants have a Super Bowl winner and possible Hall of Famer at head coach in John Harbaugh, with whom the entire team can strive for a championship standard the franchise has failed to meet for far too long now.
The standing ovation for Harbaugh from the assembled Giants fans inside Beacon Theatre back in May for the team’s Town Hall event was only just the beginning. And Harbaugh, their head coach set to usher in yet another new era for the franchise in its 102nd year, certainly knew how to play to his audience moments later.

John Schmeelk: I am going with special teams — but not the kicking game. I feel like there has been even less conversation about who the kick and punt returners are going to be. Calvin Austin III shined as a wide receiver in spring practice but his most consistent high-level play in the NFL has come as a punt returner. He has a punt return for a touchdown and averages nearly nine yards per return. Newcomer Braxton Berrios also has a lot of experience as punt returner. Berrios can also return kicks, as can running backs Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Cornerback Deonte Banks may be the most talented potential kick returner given his speed and athleticism. If he can garner the trust of his coaches, the Giants could have a pair of dynamic returners that can change the game with the ball in his hands.
Re-Grading Biggest Trades, Free-Agent Signings of 2026 NFL Offseason | Bleacher Report
Giants Trade DT Dexter Lawrence II to the Bengals. The New York Giants used the Bengals’ pick to select offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa. Before the draft, head coach John Harbaugh said the offensive line was “ a work in progress.” So, it’s no surprise that Big Blue addressed that unit with one of its first-round picks.
In college, at Miami, Mauigoa lined up primarily at right tackle, but he’ll transition to guard in New York. Quarterback Jaxson Dart expects the Giants to be a run-first team. and Mauigoa can help them establish that identity. Bengals Grade: B+ Giants Grade: A
