Today’s Elite Eight post brings the Oregon Coast head-to-head with Guitars.
The coast beat Netflix (given the wind and temperatures, you don’t have to say “and chill” when talking
about the coast…it’s already assumed), Halloween, and Golden Retrievers on the way to this matchup. Beautiful scenery, the majestic Pacific, the opportunity for campfires and clam bakes, kitschy shopping and fudge and taffy…the beach has it all. It’s a spectacular, heart-stirring getaway for all ages.
But guitars stir the heart too, and without the need for windbreakers and hoodies! As the heart of rock-n-roll bands or the sweet instrument in the hands of a young would-be bard, guitars underpin the soundtrack of our lives. The greatest musician on earth and your uncle at a campfire are united by this classic instrument. (Side note: It’s the same effect basketball has. You can watch it played at the highest levels in the NBA, then go out into your driveway and shoot alone. Both are iconic, valid experiences. Few sports, or instruments, scale so easily like that.)
