The Cleveland Browns are sitting on their bye week with basically nothing to play for but pride and future contracts. Many believe that HC Kevin Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry should be shown the door sooner
rather than later, despite owner Jimmy Haslam seeking to squash that last week, and the NFL trade deadline is right around the corner.
Some wondered if Berry not speaking to the media this week was due to his hot seat, disagreements with Stefanski, or simply practical with the deadline coming next week.
With other rumors swirling, trading DE Myles Garrett came up again this week after his impressive day went unrecognized due to the team’s poor performance. While Cleveland was adamant this offseason that they were not trading him, the NFL moves quickly, and rumors would explode if the best defensive end in the NFL was available for a deal, especially with Garrett now just the fourth-highest paid at his position.
According to Adam Schefter, Garrett is going nowhere:
Apologies for the snarkiness, but the quote at the end requires this video to follow it:
As Jack Duffin reported at The OBR, the Browns can trade Garrett. The salary cap math is difficult but possible. As Schefter is reporting, and few are surprised by, a trade is not happening, no matter what rumors fly.
