Good morning, it’s Friday, December 19. The Cleveland Cavaliers are 15-13 and play the Chicago Bulls at home today. It’s been a rough two weeks.
Today’s game of the day
- Philadelphia 76ers vs New York Knicks – 7 PM, Prime Video
The Knicks are fresh off winning the NBA Cup and looking
to claw closer to Detroit for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. New York has really hit its stride over the last few weeks. They hold the league’s 2nd-ranked defense and have improved to third in net rating. We might be looking at a new frontrunner in the East by the end of the year.
Philly is still clinging to hope. They’ve fallen dramatically after starting the season 5-1, going 9-10 in the games since. It’s hard to stay consistent when the available rotation is constantly changing. But the Sixers are still capable of packing a punch and could make this game competitive if they get big games from Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Paul George, or possibly even Joel Embiid.
The rest of the NBA slate

- Minnesota Timberwolves vs Oklahoma City Thunder – 9:30 PM
