The Steelers have already filled their roster spot vacated by the Joey Porter Jr. trade.
Pittsburgh has signed practice squad cornerback Doneiko Slaughter to the 53-man roster ahead of Thursday night’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns, the team announced. Slaughter had previously been temporarily elevated the maximum three times; now he is officially a member of the team’s roster.
With Slaughter now on the roster, Pittsburgh has an open slot on its practice squad.
The Steelers also temporarily elevated
running back Lew Nichols to the active/inactive roster for the Browns game. He will revert back to the practice squad following the game.
