Kentucky football is scheduled to host No. 17 Tennessee this evening in what’s previewed to be another uphill battle for the Wildcats.
Standing at 2-4, the Wildcats are winless in Southeastern Conference play for over a year.
Head coach Mark Stoops is firmly on the hot seat, and the end of an era may be looming.
However, that doesn’t mean the Wildcats can’t pull off what would be an upset tonight over the Volunteers.
Tennessee has really struggled on the road, and Kentucky did take No. 21 Texas to overtime
last week. In fact, the Wildcats were just a few inches away from winning last Saturday’s thriller.
Quarterback Cutter Boley had his best game as a Wildcat (outplaying preseason Heisman Trophy favorite Archie Manning), and the Kentucky defense really stepped up in big moments.
Oddsmakers still favor Tennessee, though, with Big Blue getting 8.5 points despite being at home.
ESPN’s Football Power Index is also predicting that the Vols have a 75% chance to win.
All signs point to tonight’s game being another loss for Stoops and his team, but it is SEC football with even the best teams sometimes losing.
Kickoff is set for 7:45 PM ET with coverage on the SEC Network and the UK Sports Radio Network.
