We have an update on the Kevin Danso transfer and it’s not good if you are a person who likes the idea of Kevin Danso staying at Tottenham Hotspur. According to Sky Sports’ Keith Downie, there’s an agreement in place for Danso to join Sunderland tomorrow on deadline day, BUT it’s contingent on Spurs signing a replacement.
I’ve already said my peace about “signing a replacement” for Danso when we have Malachai Hardy and Jun’ai Byfield already in the squad and we’re signing someone who isn’t going to play a lot of minutes, but I won’t repeat myself. It does appear like Spurs are targeting Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo to replace Danso which feels to me like a downgrade, so Danso would only go if that happens (or, presumably an equivalent deal). Otherwise, I guess he’ll need to suck it up, buttercup.
My head is spinning with everything that’s going on and I’m not sure I like any of it. But that’s where we are.
