Triple-A Nashville (81-61)
Record this week: 5-1
Second-half record: 37-32
The Sounds had their last home game of the season yesterday, a 7-2 win over the Gwinnett Stripers. They will play one more regular season series this year, against the Louisville Bats. Nashville is currently eight games back in the International League with six games to go, so they won’t have the chance to play in the Triple-A playoffs this year.
C Jeferson Quero (No. 4): 3-for-18
RHP Craig Yoho (No. 16): 2 IP, 1 H, 3 K, 0 ER
Yoho
has a 0.99 ERA, 11.41 K/9, and 3.97 BB/9 in 45 1/3 innings with Nashville this season. He’s clearly mastered Triple-A hitters, but his last couple appearances with the Brewers have been shaky. If Yoho can figure out his command issues or develop a third pitch he’s comfortable throwing for strikes, he could end up in the big leagues for good next season.
LHP Robert Gasser (No. 18): 2 G, 0 S, 4 2/3 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K
1B/OF Tyler Black (No. 24): 5-for-17, 2 2B
RHP Coleman Crow (No. 25): DNP
LHP Tate Kuehner: DNP — Placed on 7-day IL on August 26
2B Luis Urias — 5-for-18, 2 2B, HR
OF Brandon Lockridge — 8-for-22, 2B
RHP Alexander Cornielle — 4 2/3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 7 K
Cornielle made his Triple-A debut on September 10th after a solid season (3.88 ERA through 26 starts) with Double-A Biloxi. Milwaukee signed Cornielle out of the Dominican Republic back in 2019, but he’s still only 24 and will be for nearly the entirety of next season. You might end up seeing Cornielle (or Crow, or Kuehner) in a Brewers uniform next year, even if it’s only in a Carlos Rodriguez-esque “we need you to eat three innings” role.
UTIL Anthony Seigler — 7-for-13, 4 2B
Double-A Biloxi (74-64)
Record this week: 4-2
Second-half record: 32-37
The Shuckers are in the playoffs! Since Biloxi won the first-half South Division title, they now get to face the Montgomery Biscuits (Rays’ Double-A affiliate) starting on September 16. It’s a best-of-three-series, so the first team to win two games will move on to the Southern League Championship Series (which would be against either Birmingham or Chattanooga). Here’s how the Shuckers did in the last week before the postseason:
SS Jesús Made (No. 1): 6-for-19, 3B, 8 K
Made struck out a lot this week in his introduction to Double A, but he also hit .261 and knocked in three runners. Made turned 18 in May and started the season one step above rookie ball, so he’s ahead of schedule no matter what he does. Check back next week to see how he does in the playoffs.
SS Cooper Pratt (No. 3): 0-for-2
RHP Bishop Letson (No. 7): 4 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 6 K
This appearance was Letson’s debut with Biloxi. The 6’4” righty had a 1.69 in 10 games with High-A Wisconsin, so he should adjust to Double-A in no time. Six strikeouts is an encouraging sign already
1B/3B Luke Adams (No. 8): 2-for-16, 6 K
This was Adams’ first week back from a shoulder injury that put him on the IL for over two months. Adams will get a chance to take some extra at-bats during this year’s Arizona Fall League, which starts on October 6.
OF Luis Lara (No. 12): 8-for-18, 2 2B, 1 HR
1B/3B Brock Wilken (No. 17): 3-for-17
RHP Tyson Hardin (No. 20): 3 1/3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
1B Mike Boeve (No. 27): 3-for-16
1B Blake Burke (No. 29): 5-f0r-20, 3 HR
- Blake Burke home runs (High-A): 5
- Blake Burke at-bats (High-A): 350
- Blake Burke home runs (Double-A): 11
- Blake Burke at-bats (Double-A): 140
RHP K.C. Hunt: 6 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
RHP Brett Wichrowski: 4 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO
RHP Jaron DeBerry: 4 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 1 BB, 2 SO
RHP Manuel Rodriguez: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 4 K, 0 BB
Rodriguez was promoted from High-A Wisconsin just in time for the playoffs after a stellar season with the Timber Rattlers (3.01 ERA through 18 starts). The 20-year-old right-hander has now had an ERA under 3.25 each of the past two years, a trend that the Brewers hope carries over to Double-A.
High-A Wisconsin (56-74)
Wisconsin’s season ended last week.
Single-A Carolina (68-60)
Carolina’s season ended last week.

Player of the Week
Blake Burke, who’s coming off a three-home-run week for the Shuckers. Burke has now hit a home run in 7.9% of his at-bats since his promotion to Double-A. For reference, Christian Yelich, the Brewers’ home run leader, has hit a home run in 5.3% of his at-bats this season. Burke’s power tool is legit, and it’s translating to Double-A — a really good sign for a player who will need to become an above-average hitter to stick in the majors.
